Ferrari’s 2026 Amalfi Spider Drops the Top on One of the Most Beautiful GTs in Maranello’s Lineup

Ferrari has always had a knack for naming cars after places that feel like speed: Monza, Roma, and now the Amalfi, a stretch of Italian coastline so dramatic it practically demands you take the roof off. Turns out, Ferrari had the same idea.

Unveiled today in Maranello, the Amalfi Spider is the open-top version of last summer’s Amalfi coupe, which replaced the beloved Roma. The coupe only landed in the U.S. recently, so the Spider’s arrival already feels fast-tracked. And honestly, it’s probably the version most people envisioned the moment they laid eyes on the Amalfi’s long hood and sculpted rear deck. Some cars just want to be a spider.

Twin-Turbo, No Ceiling

The powertrain carries over unchanged, a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 from Ferrari’s F154 family, which is the most internationally decorated engine in recent automotive history, by Ferrari’s count. Output is 640 hp at 7,500 rpm, torque peaks at 561 lb.ft, and each turbocharger can now spin independently up to 171,000 rpm for sharper throttle response. It reaches 60 mph in 3.3 seconds on its way to 199 mph at top speed, via the same eight-speed dual-clutch that debuted on the SF90 Stradale. Dry weight is 3,430lbs, about 86lbs more than the coupe.

The Roof That Disappears

The soft top is the centerpiece here. Ferrari’s Z-fold kinematic system opens or closes in 13.5 seconds at speeds up to 37 mph, folding to just under 9″ thick when stowed. That compact packaging is why the Spider still manages to carry 172L of luggage with the roof down and 255L with it up. The five-layer acoustic fabric keeps the inside soundproof that, Ferrari says, rivals its retractable hardtop models, and an integrated wind deflector rises from the rear bench backrest at the touch of a button, active up to 106 mph.

The roof comes in six colors across two fabric types: tailor-made in four options, or a technical weave in two, including the new Tecnico Ottanio which is a muted teal with a three-dimensional shimmer. Ferrari also introduced Rosso Tramonto alongside the Spider, a sunset red with warm orange undertones that picks up where the coupe’s launch shade, Verde Costiera, left off. Both pull from the Amalfi Coast’s palette.

Familiar Cockpit, New Details

Inside, the dual-cockpit layout from the coupe carries over almost entirely, dominated by three screens: a 15.6-inch digital cluster, a 10.25-inch central display, and an 8.8-inch passenger panel. Tactile controls are back as well, with physical steering wheel buttons, rotary dials, and the iconic anodized aluminum start button Ferrari briefly abandoned. Spider-specific additions include a monolithic cockpit that integrates the instrument cluster and air vents into a unified housing, plus sail-motif door panels.

Ferrari hasn’t confirmed U.S. pricing or an on-sale date. The Amalfi coupe starts at $266,810 stateside, but expect the Spider to land closer to $300,000.
