Since first debuting the Ranger RZR in 2007, Polaris has been an undisputed leader in the side-by-side space, debuting a growing number of increasingly-capable models and variants year after year. And while it already makes some of the most high-performance SxS models that money can buy, the company has now opted to combine its side-by-side’s off-roading abilities with a host of overlanding-focused features and amenities to deliver the ultimate adventure UTV with the all-new Polaris XPEDITION Adventure Side-By-Side Lineup.
The new Polaris XPEDITION range is initially comprised of two base models — the XPEDITION XP and the XPEDITION ADV — both of which are offered across three trim levels. Regardless of model or trim level, these go-anywhere machines come loaded with overlanding amenities such as integrated fold-flat rear seats, a pass-through cab, a modular roof rack system, a massive dumping cargo box, sealed electrical components, and a high-mounted air intake. Equipped with extreme approach and departure angle capabilities, the XPEDITION models also benefit from Pro Armor 30” Crawler XP tires and a segment-leading 14” of ground clearance.
At the heart of the new overland-specific off-road vehicles is Polaris’ second-generation ProStar 1000 engine. Good for 114hp and a towing capacity of 2,000lbs, the 1.0-liter twin-cylinder mill is paired with an on-demand all-wheel drive system. Both models also boast the industry’s largest fuel capacity of any factory SxS which affords more than 200 miles of range — and that’s without additional fuel packs, jerry cans, or RotopaX cells. Polaris is also offering more than 100 optional accessories for the new SxS models including MAXTRAX traction boards, kayak holders, an integrated winch, a rooftop tent, fishing rod holders, and a Rhino-Rack roof rack, just to name a few.
Scheduled to begin the first deliveries over the summer of 2023, the 2024 Polaris XPEDITION XP starts at $28,999 while the 2024 Polaris XPEDITION ADV starts at $29,999. Both models are offered in 2 and 5-seat versions across three trim levels — Premium, Ultimate, and Northstar.
