The electric vehicle market is booming right now, with industry veterans getting in on the action and updating classic models ready for the future. Ford is among these veterans and has been on a tear over the last five years, giving us the Mustang Mach E in 2019 and the unlikely Ford F-150 Lightning in 2021. The F-150 Lightning may still be a relatively new entry, but we’re already seeing its impact on the industry as more trucks are going electric. While waiting patiently for the 2024 F-150 Lightning, the marque has just announced the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum Black, featuring a sleek black wrap and matching details.

The F-150 Lightning Platinum Black is decked out in a full matte black wrap, giving it a subtle yet powerful look bolstered by the 22-inch matte black platinum wheels. It comes with a smoky signature light bar, black Ford oval badges, power deployable running boards, and a sleek black tonneau cover. You’re also getting two plates (one in the door jamb and the other in the frunk) denoting the model number of the truck, and we can’t forget the black premium Nirvana Leather seats to match the outside of it. They’re not making a ton of these (2,000 models to be exact), so you’ll want to keep your ear to the ground for more news (which you can do by signing up through Ford’s website).

Returning from the previous F-150 Lightning, we have a dual-motor powertrain capable of 580hp, along with the Extended Range battery pack, giving you 300 miles of range. Updates in the 2024 model include better hands-free driver assistance with the improved BlueCruise 1.2 tech and an optional generator that powers the truck once you unlock it.

The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum Black will be limited to 2,000 models, all going for $99,000, with shipping expected to begin early next year.
