Introduced in 2014 as the replacement for the “entry-level” Gallardo, the Lamborghini Huracán may sit at the bottom of the Raging Bull’s lineup, though it’s still a wildly-impressive vehicle, with a sleek design and performance capabilities that best its predecessor in practically every area. And though the elite Italian firm already produces a wide range of different Huracán variants, Lamborghini has now pulled the cover off of what is arguably the most refined trim to date, with the new Huracán Tecnica.
Occupying the space between the base-model EVO and the race-focused STO-spec, the new Huracán Tecnica was engineered to be a competitive machine on the track, while still lending itself to road-going duties. Boasting an RWD setup, this “technical” Lambo variant is powered by the same naturally-aspirated V10 that’s found in the Huracán STO, however, the 5.2-liter ten-banger has been tuned to put down an additional 29.5hp — bringing its power output up to 631hp and 416.7ft-lbs of torque and allowing the 3,040-lb supercar to clock 0-60mph runs in under 3.2 seconds along with achieving a top speed of over 200mph.
This street-legal track weapon also features a redesigned carbon-clad aero kit that produces 35% more rear downforce than the EVO while simultaneously reducing drag by 20%. Other highlights and special features include a new rear-wheel steering system, a modified Performance Traction Control system, a specially-tuned suspension package, a myriad of different drive modes, a Tecnica-exclusive HMI interface, a carbon-ceramic braking package with new cooling ducts, and Damiso 20” diamond-cut wheels that were inspired by the Lamborghini Vision GT.
The 2023 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica is slated to roll into dealerships later this year, and while pricing has yet to be revealed, we anticipate the new Tecnica’s MSRP to land somewhere between the $215,000 EVO RWD-spec and the $330,000 STO variant — placing it at around $270,0000.
