In late 2019, Porsche unveiled its first-ever EV model with the Taycan, combining the brand’s signature blend of luxury and performance in a fully battery-powered package. Fast forward to today and the Stuttgart firm has now unveiled an even higher performance, track-ready variant of the electric Porsche, christened the Taycan GTS.

Marking the first GTS-spec electric Porsche, the Taycan GTS is being produced in sedan and Sport Turismo variants — both of which pack front and rear permanent magnet motors that draw from a 93.4kWh battery, and produce 440kW (or 590hp) and 626ft-lbs of torque. The battery pack’s 800-volt architecture also allows the cell to receive an 80% charge in under 23 minutes. Equipped with launch control, both versions of the Taycan GTS are good for 0-60mph runs in 3.5 seconds flat, and a top speed of 155mph. As high-performance, track-focused offerings, the GTS-spec Taycans also sport standard features like Porsche’s Adaptive Air Suspension system, GT Multifunction Steering Wheels, 21″ RS Spyder Design wheels, Porsche Active Suspension Management, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, and the Sport Chrono Package, just to name a few.

Porsche has yet to reveal specs on range, though the information is expected to trickle out in the next few weeks. Available for preorder now, the 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS starts at $131,400, while the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo is available from $133,300.
