Located in Alicante — a port city nestled along Spain’s southeastern Costa Blanca — Tamarit Motorcycles has quickly established itself as one of the world’s premier builders of one-off Triumph projects. And despite having been established in 2015, the Spanish shop has recently completed its 100th bespoke build from the Hinckley firm. To mark this illustrious milestone, Tamarit has gone above and beyond its regular formula to deliver what is perhaps its most involved and elaborate build to date with an idiosyncratic cafe racer that’s been dubbed “Jade.”
Rather than being commissioned by a client with a directive, Tamarit gave itself complete carte blanche when designing and executing its 100th project. Aiming to demonstrate the immense skillsets the shop has honed and developed over the last seven years, the build is based on a 2008 Thruxton, though after nearly 650 hours of expert labor, the Triumph is a far cry from its former self. After receiving a proprietary oil-cooling system that’s been integrated into the frame, the build’s chassis has been bestowed with a gusseted bespoke subframe that matches the framework’s hole-punched custom swing-arm — the latter of which has been stretched by nearly 6”, lowering Jade’s stance. The new subframe now carries a floating, low-profile take on a humped cafe-style tail paired with matching diamond-stitched tank pads, too. The front-end of the bike has been equipped with a custom half-fairing that’s crafted from methacrylate and supported via a custom aluminum brace, while the bottom of the build’s silhouette is now rounded out with a custom asymmetrical belly-pan design. After having its 865cc parallel-twin completely refreshed, the air-cooled engine has been treated to a set of pod filters and a custom two-into-one Zard exhaust with a wire-frame heat shield. Other minor odds and ends include a collection of machined-brass fasteners, Tamarit-built clip-ons, KustomTech levers, top-shelf Berrigner brakes, a relocated battery, a bespoke mono-shock made from scratch, custom rear-sets, and a custom chrome-plated top-triple with a sunken Motogadget Motoscope Mini display.
Now complete, Tamarit Motorcycle’s 2008 Thruxton-based “Jade” build is slated to go under the hammer in early February at an upcoming sale from Parisian auction house Artcurial.
