Monterey Car Week always produces a few lots that make you do a double take, and Range Rover just guaranteed one for 2026. The brand has commissioned a one-off restoration through its Classic division that will cross the block at RM Sotheby’s Monterey Auction this August, bundled with the very first US-market example of its new flagship as a single, inseparable lot.
Say hello to the Range Rover Matched Pair: a 1993 Range Rover Classic rebuilt to mirror the 2027 SV Ultra LWB parked next to it.
The Ultimate Package Deal
Range Rover describes the SV Ultra as the “pinnacle” of the lineup, which translates for the layman as an invitation-only, long-wheelbase trim priced well into six figures. Its equipped with a world-first electrostatic audio system that includes 21 ultra-thin transducers hidden in the headrests and headliner working alongside vibrating “Body and Soul Seats.”
The Classic, naturally, gets none of that – and that’s the point. Buyers here aren’t paying for tech; they’re paying for the first US-market SV Ultra plus a rolling advertisement for what the Classic Works team in Coventry can do when handed a blank check.
Dressing a ’93 in 2027’s Wardrobe
The donor truck started life as a US-market County Edition before being resprayed in Titan Silver, an SV Ultra-exclusive finish that uses real aluminum flake to pull off its “liquid metal” trick. Satin Platinum Atlas covers the new 16-inch three-spoke wheels (diamond-turned rims included), while the deleted side trim and updated hood script clean up the exterior to match its modern sibling.
This is also the first Range Rover Classic ever trimmed in Ultrafabrics. It wears the same duo-tone Orchid White and Cinder Grey scheme as the SV Ultra, right down to the laser-crafted seat patterns and mosaic perforation. A period-look Bluetooth head unit and heated power seats round out the affair.
182 Horsepower, Lovingly Rebuilt
Now, before anyone cries restomod, it’s worth mentioning that the powertrain is untouched in spirit. The original 3.9-liter V8 and four-speed automatic remain. It has, however, been comprehensively rebuilt alongside the suspension, steering, and brakes as part of a restoration that consumed over 2,000 hours.
That V8 made 182 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque when new. But mechanical authenticity was the brief, and there’s something charming about a factory pouring boutique-watchmaker effort into one of the least stressed engines of the 1990s.

The Range Rover Matched Pair debuts publicly during Monterey Car Week, with previews at the Monterey Conference Center starting August 12 before RM Sotheby’s offers both vehicles as a single lot on August 14. The pair carries an estimate of $750,000 to $950,000 and, refreshingly, is offered without reserve.
