As far as off-road SUVs are concerned, Range Rovers are second to none in terms of luxury and capability. The crown jewel of Land Rover’s line of vehicles, Range Rovers are often viewed as the gold standard for off-roading, despite their status as a luxury vehicle. While we’re always excited to come across a Range Rover for sale, we’ve stumbled upon a particularly rugged 1993 Range Rover that has been converted for Safari use and is priced for a bargain.
This particular 1993 Range Rover has a unique history. It was the last Range Rover Classic sold to Finland by an official Land Rover dealer, and after being passed around to a few owners, the car ended up in J.Särkilahti, Finland where it was converted for safari use. The already capable Range Rover was given a performance overhaul, as its owner lifted its suspension, installed guards to the front, axles, and fuel tank, and swapped its bumpers for heavy-duty ones to better tackle the elements. Its augmentations don’t end there, however, as this Range Rover also has a Superwinch 9.0 winch installed to its front, wider wheel arches to accommodate the massive Insa Special Track off-road tires, and ARB air lockers installed to its front and rear axles to maximize torque.
If all of those upgrades weren’t enough, this beastly SUV also boasts an upgraded suspension with heavy-duty springs and longer shock absorbers along with a swapped-in new Developments Rover 4.6L V8 Performance engine. This stalwart engine is a special type of “torque engine” that enables a smooth ride on even the worst terrains. The result of these augmentations is a luxury SUV capable of taking on the roughest terrain while still leaving you swaddled in comfort.
Additional features include a fuel-powered heater, LED headlights, an additional air compressor in the trunk, and an LA radio phone. This Range Rover is in resplendent condition and is built for fearless adventurers who endeavor to go off the beaten path. You can buy this 1993 Range Rover on Classic Driver’s website for the surprisingly paltry sum of $29,327.
