Gateway Bronco Is Now Building Fully-Electric Classic Ford Bronco Restomods

Over the last few years, Gateway Bronco has quickly established itself as one of the country’s premier builders of Ford Bronco restomods, bestowing the classic trucks with bespoke interiors and modern powertrains and running gear. And while the Illinois outfit already boasts a long and impressive build portfolio, it’s now unleashed what’s almost certainly its most ambitious project to date with the debut of the Gateway Bronco LUXE GT EV.

Also known as the “EV Edition Bronco,” the LUXE GT EV utilizes the body of a 1972 Bronco that’s been placed atop an all-new chassis. At the heart of the converted electrified classic is an EV crate motor from Electric GT that’s mated to a five-speed transmission, paired with a four-wheel-drive system, and good for 400hp and a whopping 800ft-lbs of instantly-available torque — enabling the EV Bronco to do 0-60mph runs in just over four seconds. The electric crate motor also draws from a Lithium-ion battery pack that affords the truck a range of 300 miles.

On top of classically-styled 18” wheels shod in 33” Toyo tires, this electric Bronco also rides on a JRi suspension setup with a bespoke electric ride control suspension package that allows the vehicle to go from firm mode, to sport mode, to luxury mode at the flip of a switch. Other modern amenities include power-retractable steps from AMP Research, a four-point roll bar, Wilwood brakes, and new projector LED headlights set in the Bronco’s original housings. In typical Gateway Bronco fashion, the ’72 donor’s interior has also been completely reworked and now features power windows, a bespoke dash complete with an integrated touchscreen and custom AC units, custom pedals, a three-arm split-spoke steering wheel, a backup camera-equipped rearview mirror, Apple CarPlay integration, one-off heated and cooled seats, and a bespoke upholstery package that sees the cabin trimmed in Porsche black leather that’s complemented via houndstooth inlays. The exterior of the LUXE GT EV has also been cloaked in a reimagined take on the Bronco’s classic seafoam green livery.

Gateway Bronco is currently accepting commissions for its LUXE GT EV model, with pricing starting from $265,000.
