First unveiled at the 1971 Geneva Auto Show, the Lamborghini Miura is unequivocally one of the most iconic and influential supercar designs in history. Penned by legendary auto designer Marcello Gandini, the Miura was produced in three iterations, the last of which was the highly-coveted SV, of which only 140 units were ever built. Despite the immense rarity of the model, one of these highly sought-after specimens has just come up for sale.
This nearly flawless, matching numbers example remains almost entirely stock, with the exception of a set of one-off front slats. On top of a Rosso Corsa livery and a Pelle Nera (pigskin leather) interior, this 1971 specimen also sports an original SVJ fuel filler and chrome bumpers. At the heart of this SV-spec Miura is a two-valve, 3.9L V12 that’s mated to a gated five-speed manual transmission and is good for 380hp and a top speed of nearly 180mph. The engine also received a ZF limited-slip differential and a quad three-barrel Weber carb setup. This Italian beauty also shows only 2,203 miles on the odo, making it one of the lowest mileage specimens in existence.
