Though the season is still roughly six months away, things are already heating up in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Hypercar class, with a myriad of major marques each announcing their own respective entries into next year’s WEC series. And after previously seeing Cadillac, Porsche, and BMW’s LMDh racers for 2023, Lamborghini is now teasing its own hypercar class competitor that’s scheduled to hit the track in 2024.

Developed from the ground up by the Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the Raging Bull’s LMDh racer features a state-of-the-art twin-turbocharged hybrid 90-degree V8 engine. Good for a combined 500kW (681hp), the hybrid eight-banger represents the first racing engine developed entirely from scratch by Lamborghini Squadra Corse. Weighing less than 400lbs, the V8 also benefits from Bosch Motorsport electric motors, battery management and storage courtesy of Williams Advanced Engineering, and a seven-speed P1359 hybrid gearbox from Xtrac.

The chassis of the car was also developed in collaboration with Ligier Automotive and has been cloaked in a widebody LM-style shell from HP Composites — Lamborghini’s long-term partner in GT3 and Super Trofeo racing. Crafted entirely from lightweight carbon fiber, the Lamborghini’s bodywork follows the Italian firm’s signature design language, with its hallmark intake-equipped hood, an octagonal roof scoop, and Terzo Millennio-inspired headlights that are clearly modeled after the LED units found on the Lamborghini SIÁN FKP 37. Tipping the scales at 2,270lbs, Lambo’s LMDh racer is also capable of reaching speeds of over 210mph. Equipped with a 124” wheelbase, the race car also features a 78.74” width and a length of 200”.

The Lamborghini Squadra Corse Hypercar Class LMDh Race Car is slated to make its competition debut in 2024 in both the IMSA Endurance Cup and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
