At this point, Kith has collaborated with roughly everyone under the sun, including Lucky the Leprechaun himself via a Lucky Charms cereal collab. And while the sneaker shop tends to offer a touch of color with most of its work, founder Ronnie Fieg’s latest collaborations with New Balance and Mad Paris are highlighted by bright palettes that virtually scream summertime.
New Balance’s iconic 990 series has remained a vital silhouette in the sneaker community for years, and its latest rework arrives in a variety of stylish looks with equally stylish names. Starting with the United Arrows & Son, it features hints of black, purple, and pink, with a pigskin suede composition. Next is the Daytona, which fuses the same eye-popping shade of pink with a more subdued navy blue. Next, the Cyclades practically look like they were crafted with the Miami Dolphins in mind, boasting bright shades of teal and orange. Lastly, Dusty Rose is primarily made up of a quiet pink tone overtaking the upper with gray accents throughout.
From a design perspective, Kith’s joint effort with MAD Paris goes hand-in-hand with the quartet of 990s. However, they couldn’t be any more different if we’re talking about function, as the brands have added the same spirited color combos to the Contax G2. This film camera once served as a highly coveted gadget for photographers, serving as one of the most powerful in the world of rangefinders. The Japanese-made camera features a 35mm autofocus and Carl Zeiss Planar 45mm f2 lens. The collab version even arrives in a custom camera case courtesy of Globe-Trotter — how’s that for luxurious?
Anyone interested in the vintage Kith x Mad Paris Contax G2 cameras can sign up for the drawing on Kith’s app by June 13. On the other hand, anyone looking to pick up some kicks for the summer can find Kith’s take on the New Balance 990 on the brand’s app, too, with each colorway releasing between the dates of June 15 and June 18.
