For nearly half a century, Kershaw has been producing quality utilitarian knives at an accessible price. And the Oregon-based outfit is now continuing this tradition with the debut of the all-new Kershaw Inception everyday carry flipper knife.

Designed, prototyped, and checked for quality control in America, the Inception is constructed around a set of black G-10 handles that are equipped with a stainless steel liner lock. The modern, ergonomic handle design has been paired with a 3.25” stone-washed drop point blade that’s composed of D2 high-carbon tool steel, deployed via a flipper tab, and smoothly guided by Kershaw’s KVT ball-bearing system. Texturing on the handle scales and knurled metal on the blade’s flipper tab and spine provide stellar grip and control, even in hard-use situations. With a pronounced swedge and a thickness of 0.11”, the blade not only sports an unmistakably modern aesthetic but is also a true workhorse, designed to suit a wide variety of cutting tasks and a lifetime of use.

Measuring 7.25” overall, this knife manages to tip the scales at only 3.1oz, largely thanks to its low-profile 0.44” handle thickness. Other noteworthy elements such as a decorative grooved pivot cap, a stainless steel lanyard loop insert, anodized hardware, and a reversible deep-carry pocket clip further separate this-built-to-last blade from other more budget-friendly knives on the market. All in all, this utilitarian model proves that quality and capable everyday carry knives don’t have to cost a fortune.

Available now, the Kershaw Inception EDC flipper knife has been priced at $100. And, like all Kershaw knives, the Inception comes backed by the company’s limited lifetime warranty.
