Honda first tried its luck in Formula 1 competition in 1964, though after only a few short years, the Japanese firm would pull the plug on the project. Following a decade-and-a-half-long hiatus, Honda re-entered F1 racing in 1983 and would go on to win every Constructors’ Championship between 1986 and 1991 — marking a golden era for the Honda Racing Corporation. In addition to bringing new machinery to the ’83 season, Honda’s revived F1 program also unveiled a special clothing capsule for the race crew in traditional HRC colors. Fast forward nearly 40-years-layer to today and Big Red is now releasing a limited-edition clothing collection modeled directly after the uniforms worn by Honda’s F1 team in the pits.

Christened the 1983 F1 Collection, this new capsule from Honda Vintage Culture is comprised of eight items in total — all of which are completely bespoke, 100% authentic, produced under license to Honda Vintage Culture’s exacting specifications, and boast the red, white, and blue paint scheme from the iconic HRC race livery. Anchoring this release is a quilted team jacket, though the capsule also includes a matching puffer vest, a full-zip team jacket, an HRC-colored hoodie, a short-sleeve henley, and a team polo shirt. These premium items are all crafted from high-end materials and come equipped with elements such as bespoke patches and zipper pulls. Rounding out the 1983 F1 Collection is a Honda F1 Racing Team sticker and a team sticker pack that includes Honda and HRC logos and branding from across a myriad of eras.

Available now in limited numbers, the Honda Vintage Culture 1983 F1 Collection starts at $12 for the team sticker and goes up to $150 for the quilted team jacket.
