Yeti’s Yonder Brings Helimix’s Vortex Tech to the Ultimate Shaker Bottle

Protein shakes are an irreplaceable part of your daily fitness routine. But many of us forego this boost to our gains simply because prep and cleanup can be so arduous. Mixing balls and blade heads aren’t necessarily the easiest to clean, let alone clean well.

That’s where Helimix comes in. Over a decade ago, the Florida-based company designed a solution that precludes extra equipment to minimize cleanup post-mixing, as well as clumping in your shakes. After recently being purchased by drinkware giant Yeti for $38 million, Helimix Technology has now made its debut in the former’s lineup for the first time.

A Strategic Acquisition

The Austin-based brand, known primarily for premium coolers and insulated drinkware, has been steadily expanding its footprint in fitness and wellness. With over 39,000 reviews averaging 4.5 stars on Amazon, Helimix had already proven the vortex-mixing concept works. Rather than reinvent the wheel, Yeti acquired the designs, tooling, and intellectual property, then set about integrating the technology into its existing Yonder lineup — the lightweight, non-insulated bottle family it launched back in 2022.

Some might have expected Yeti to put Helimix in its Rambler series rather than Yonder. But where Rambler focuses on temperature retention with vacuum-insulated stainless steel, Yonder has always been about shedding weight for hikers, climbers, and anyone who prioritizes portability over keeping drinks cold. A shaker bottle fits perfectly here, since most of us aren’t looking to insulate our post-workout shakes anyway.

The Geometry of Mixing

Helimix’s core innovation is deceptively simple: a hexagonal interior that creates a cyclonic vortex when shaken. No wire ball rattling around. No mesh screens to scrub protein residue from. The hex shape forces liquid and powder into a tornado-like pattern that disperses clumps through pure physics. Yeti’s taken that same patented design and wrapped it in a BPA-free bottle made from 75% recycled plastic (excluding the cap).

The bottle comes in two sizes — 20oz and 27oz — with the larger model measuring 9.2″ tall by 4.2″ in diameter and weighing just half a pound empty. Both feature measurement markings etched into the side, a 100% leakproof construction, and a quick-access chug spout under a flip cap. It’s all dishwasher safe too, which is certainly a bonus.

Made in America, Built for Repetition

One aspect Yeti’s been vocal about is maintaining Helimix’s U.S.-based manufacturing. The brand positioned this as part of its broader sports and wellness push, and keeping production domestic aligns with both Helimix’s original ethos and Yeti’s premium branding. These bottles are built to outlast the cheap shakers you’d pick up at a supplement shop.

What’s immediately apparent is how Yeti’s put its own design language on the product. While the hexagonal vortex geometry stays true to Helimix, the cap design is distinctly Yeti. Gone are the sharp, angular edges of the original. Instead, Yeti’s opted for rounded, ergonomic lines on the outside. On the other hand, some might not love that the cap isn’t cross-compatible with other Yeti bottles, which is a minor inconvenience if you were hoping to swap lids between your Yonder water bottle and shaker.

Recap

Yeti Shaker Bottle with Helimux Technology

Yeti just dropped its first shaker bottle after buying Helimix’s vortex-mixing tech for $38 million, bringing that ball-free hexagonal design into the lightweight Yonder lineup. At $22-$25, it’s made in the USA with recycled plastic and ditches all the extra mixing parts for a geometry-driven approach.
