Tactile Turn’s Latest Limited-Edition Pen Pays Homage to a Classic Racing Livery

Those who don’t believe that the pen is mightier than the sword have never owned a Tactile Turn pen before. The Texas-based pen manufacturer creates premium writing tools out of high-quality machined materials. It’s a no-frills brand that prides itself on never putting out a product that isn’t of the highest quality, which is why its pens or pencils are some of the best EDC additions a person can buy. Adding to its already stellar lineup of writing utensils, Tactile Turn is releasing a limited-edition GT pen that’s sure to get engines revving.

Any racing aficionado would recognize the colorway of the GT pen in a heartbeat. Its powder blue body with Marigold orange and white accents is a faithful homage to one of the most iconic racing liveries in history: Gulf Racing. The livery has graced many an endurance racing car, with notable companies like McLaren and Porsche sporting its memorable palette, but the most famous car to dawn this livery, as well as the pen’s namesake, is the Ford GT40. Aside from being one of the finest examples of American-made automotive excellence of all time, the GT40 was responsible for dethroning Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, winning the endurance race from 1966 through 1969.

The GT pen features a titanium construction and draws inspiration from the GT40 with its light blue Cerakote body as well as its orange and white Cerakote accents. It’s built on the company’s popular Side Click Pen, which sports a simple, two-piece build that has an oh-so-satisfying click. Aside from its handsome build and iconic colorway, the GT pen has the option of having a custom-engraved clip with either a racing number or “GT” enscribed on it.

The GT comes in three sizes: Standard (5.8″), Short (5.3″), and Mini (4.6″), and as is always the case with Tactile Turn, the pen comes with a lifetime warranty. The GT pen retails for $149 and is available on Tactile Turn’s website from now until March 26.
