Porsche and Smeg Team Up to Bring 1970s Le Mans Heritage to Your Kitchen

Whether or not there’s anyone who looks at a refrigerator and thinks about racing stripes, Porsche and Smeg just released a kitchen collection that makes more sense than it probably should. The two brands teamed up on a limited run of appliances that pulls directly from Porsche’s 1970 Le Mans victory — the race that put them on the map in endurance racing. It’s not every day you see motorsport heritage translated into something as mundane as a toaster, but when both companies have spent decades obsessing over how things look and function, the overlap is inevitable.

Racing Pedigree in Your Kitchen

Featuring five different items for your kitchen, the collection is inspired by the 917 KH that gave Porsche its first outright win at Le Mans in 1970. That car — piloted by Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood through rain and mechanical carnage — wore Salzburg Red with white racing stripes and the number 23. Now those same details live on a FAB28 fridge and BCC12 coffee machine, each limited to 1,970 numbered units. The fridge gets a metal plate with its unique number, and both pieces carry that racing livery across their bodies (although they might get confused for your love of a particular former NBA legend).

Smeg’s retro-inspired FAB28 has been a design icon since 1997, but the Porsche treatment makes it even better. The handle mirrors proportions from the 911 GT3 RS, finished in matte black to match the logo. Even the interior profiles get that darker treatment, keeping the aesthetic tight. Boasting cafe-quality brew quality and a built-in grinder, the coffee machine follows suit with matte black accents on the control panel and steam wand.

Clean Colorways Beyond the Track

Outside the Salzburg editions, the collection offers Carrara (like Italian marble, not to be confused with the Porsche 911) White Metallic and Shade Green Metallic — both pulled straight from Porsche’s paint catalog. These finishes extend across the FAB28 fridge, toaster, kettle, and blender, each carrying subtle Porsche touches. The toaster has six browning levels and a custom-numbered control knob. The kettle holds 1.7L, features Porsche-inspired temperature gauge icons, and auto-shuts at 100°C (212ºF). The blender runs four manual speeds plus three presets (Smoothie, Green Smoothie, Ice-Crush) with an auto-clean function.

The Latest Partnership Might Be the Best

This isn’t Smeg’s first collaboration — they’ve worked with Supreme, Dolce & Gabbana, and even Disney — but Porsche brings something different. Both brands built their reputations on making objects that justify their existence through how they’re made, not just how they look. You can seriously level up your kitchen if you’re able to grab all 5 of these pieces.
