Launched from a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2013, Ridge’s flagship metal deployment wallet helped change the way we stored our credit cards and the EDC space as a whole. It didn’t take long before everyone else followed suit. Now, the California-based gear company has brought its expertise to the world of jet-setting, launching a new Travel Collection that uses the same top-tier materials and construction that’s become the brand’s calling card.
Leading the pack is the hard-sided Carry-On suitcase, available in four attractive colors. Hard-sided luggage is an appealing option for those who want to keep their valuables protected on long, unpredictable trips — especially when someone else is responsible for handling your bags. Equipped with a telescopic handle, YKK Racquet coil zippers, and 360-degree wheels, Ridge’s version is among the most durable we’ve seen, with a German Makrolon polycarbonate shell and anodized aluminum protectors on the corners for insurance against drops and dings. While 30% thicker than other hard-sided options on the market, the Carry-On is nevertheless just as lightweight and boasts an IPX3 waterproof rating. Made for better organization and constructed with 200D fabric, the interior sports a compression panel with a zipped pocket and an additional zipped panel on the other side. There’s also a pocket for holding a GPS-tracking device.
Other items in the Travel Collection include the Commuter Backpack, a stylish yet minimalist 20-liter bag with plenty of pockets and durability thanks to its ballistic nylon construction, a Toiletry Bag, a Packing Cube, and a Luggage Tag. What’s more is all of these options are weatherproof just like the Carry-On and are made with meticulous organization in mind. Did you expect anything else from Ridge?
Prices for the Travel Collection start at $25 for the Luggage Tag and go up to $295 for the Carry-On. Head over to Ridge’s website to get ready for your next trip.
