Puffer’s Blacked-Out Inflatable Tent Pitches Itself in Two Minutes With Zero Poles

Inflatable tents have been around long enough to develop their own clichés. Most are either sprawling glamping cabins or bulbous domes that look like they wandered off from a kid’s birthday party.

Puffer, a young startup out of Utah, went the other direction for its debut. One two-person shelter, one electric pump, one duffel bag, and a mattress you physically cannot leave at home.

Two Minutes, Zero Poles

Setup is incredibly straight forward. Simply plug in the included battery-powered pump, press start, and the tent’s three inline air arches rise into shape in roughly two minutes. There’s no pole sleeves, no clips, and no complicated instructions to work through.

The frame and floor run at different pressures, so each inflates through its own valve, and Puffer prints the target PSI right on the corner housing both. When it’s time to bail, the pump’s reverse function vacuums the air back out and the whole tent collapses flat for rolling.

An A-Frame With a Few Curves

The silhouette feels like a mix between an A-frame and a tunnel tent that features steep sidewalls, a single ridge beam, and a gentle arc up top that buys some extra headroom. It’s drenched in matte black, which feels more like technical gear than campground equipment. All of that tracks given the founders’ roots in skate, snowboard, and moto culture.

Inside, you’ve got a total 42 inches of peak height alongside an 84.6″ x 42″ floor that sleeps two people. There are also six total stakes and four guy lines to help keep the tent planted when the wind kicks up, and there’s even a patch kit that comes standard for field repairs.

The Floor Is the Bed

Puffer’s floor is is a fully integrated air base with adjustable firmness, from soft to downright firm, meaning your sleeping pad is permanently fused to your shelter.

Now, at 18.2 pounds for the tent alone (22 with the pump, stakes, and bag), nobody’s strapping this thing to a backpacking rig. But tossed in a truck bed for car camping, overlanding, or festival duty, and that few extra pounds isn’t going to matter too much. Especially when the payoff is a 25-inch duffel containing your entire sleep system.
