Nothing kicks off a garage day quite like a stiff espresso, which might explain why Porsche keeps finding its way back to Florence. Two years ago, the Stuttgart crew linked up with La Marzocco on a pair of racing-flavored Linea Micras that have long since sold out, and most people figured that was the end of it. But, we should’ve known better. The duo has reunited for the Porsche x La Marzocco 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Collection.

Rewinding Past the Race Car
The 2024 collab drew on the Martini-liveried 911 Carrera RSR, so for the sequel, the two brands traced that racer all the way back to its source.

Enter the 911 Carrera RS 2.7, the 1972 homologation special that required 500 road-going examples before Porsche could take the 911 racing. The resulting lightweight became the fastest German production car of its day.

It was also the first 911 to wear the Carrera script, a nod to the brand’s Carrera Panamericana victories, and just as important, it’s the car that birthed the ducktail. Fifty-plus years on, it’s one of the most sought after collector cars, period.

A Ducktail for Your Demitasse
Rather than slapping a crest on a stock machine, La Marzocco worked the car’s entire visual vocabulary into the Linea Micra. The cup rail is shaped after the RS 2.7’s ducktail, while Carrera RS script sweeps across the side panel, mirroring the car’s rocker graphics.

The black knobs are laser-engraved with RS and 2.7 markings, the analog gauges wear red and green needles in proper Porsche fashion, and a One of 911 plaque seals each unit’s spot in the run.
As for colors, you get Grand Prix White with green, Tangerine with black, or a white-and-blue combo that Germany is keeping all 150 examples of for itself.

Florence Hardware Under the Stuttgart Paint
Beneath the livery sits a genuine Linea Micra. Each one is hand-built to order in Florence with the same dual-boiler architecture that keeps La Marzocco parked behind your favorite café’s counter. A convertible 3-in-1 portafilter, insulated steam wand, and app-adjustable temperature handle the barista duties, while the matching Pico grinder brings a magnetic portafilter fork and an auto-closing bean hopper.
And since no Porsche drop arrives without merch, there’s a full spread of Carrera RS cups, towels, canisters, and apparel. Our favorite piece? The 1:18 scale RS 2.7 with a tiny espresso machine stashed in the frunk.
