ISLE’s The Switch Is Both an Inflatable Paddle Board and a Kayak

Back in 2004, two passionate surfers from San Diego took to the worldwide web to launch one of the first online-based surfboard companies called ISLE. A few years later came the stand-up paddle boarding boom, which the company hopped on right away (pardon the pun). This gave way to inflatable paddle boards, spearheaded by ISLE itself and providing athletes with a lightweight and portable alternative to their standard boards that was also incredibly durable. Now, the company has led the way once again with The Switch, a 2-in-1 paddle board-kayak hybrid.

Using the industry-standard AirTech FusionLite Technology, an innovation in weight optimization and durability that it helped develop and perfect, ISLE has taken its inflatable paddle board and outfitted it for transitioning into a kayak if desired. The Switch’s IsleLink System allows the rider to seamlessly adjust your onboard accessories and hook up the chair and foot brace attachment using the patent-pending stainless steel G-Hook. A 4-piece paddle is also included, which can easily transition between both modes as well.

The high-back seat cushion is adjustable for any height, as is the foot brace. Weighing only 19lbs itself, the 11.5-foot Switch can hold up to 425lbs and an additional seat can be purchased for tandem kayaking. The two bungee storage zones on the front and back are easily adjustable and the FlexFin paddle is made from ultra-strong thermoplastic polyurethane to protect against any obstacles it might hit.

Kayaking and paddle boarding aren’t terribly different from one another, but you still need a brand you can trust to find the perfect link between the two. ISLE’s The Switch is the beginning of a new chapter in the outdoor recreation industry, and it will be available soon through ISLE’s website for $995.
