Garmin Updates Its Flagship Smartwatch with the Touchscreen Fenix 7 Series

Garmin has been in the smartwatch game for quite some time now, and they are yet to disappoint. Having recently announced their speaker-equipped Venu 2 Plus at CES, one would assume a respite was to come. However, merely weeks removed, the Taiwanese gadgeteers have renewed their flagship Fenix with some eye-popping features and have done the same for the Epix by introducing the Fenix 7 Series and the Epix 2.

Beginning with the day’s more alluring reveal, Garmin’s latest Fenix features a revamped touchscreen display, a surfeit of training tools, and bolstered battery life. While they do offer immense protection thanks to their rugged composition, these rugged watches remain very advanced pieces of equipment. Composed of precious materials along the lines of titanium cases and sapphire crystals, the Fenix 7 Series comes available in three forms, those being the 42mm 7S, 47mm 7, and 51mm 7X. Each boasts a touch screen interface and the option of solar power, with the sun-fueled offerings capable of lasting up to 5 weeks when in smartwatch mode. With athletes in mind, Garmin has also implemented its brand-new Real-Time Stamina tech, providing the opportunity to track exertion levels across the board. Another bonus is the watches’ Visual Race Predictor feature, which accounts for any prior running history to provide insight on your potential progression.

It’s also worth noting that Garmin’s Epix 2 is also seeing some noteworthy improvements over the previous generation, such as its eye-catching AMOLED display and mightily improved 16 days’ worth of battery life. According to the brand, it is tailored to adhere to “an active lifestyle,” which comes as no surprise as a result of its 24/7 health monitoring and GPS positioning. Considering the initial iteration’s release was seven years ago, these updates are highly warranted.

For anyone looking to tackle their New Year’s resolution but are looking for further assistance, either of Garmin’s new athletically adhering smartwatches are premier choices. Currently available starting from $700 for the standard edition Fenix 7, you can take your pick on Garmin’s website.
