Fender is unequivocally one of the most recognizable brands in the guitar space. For almost 75 years, the guitar maker has epitomized musical innovation as their guitars captured the hearts, minds, and ears of people around the world. Almost 75 years after the company’s inception, Fender seeks to carry on their tradition of innovation by partnering with famed automaker Lexus. Under the guidance of Master Builder, Ron Thorn, the two giants collaborated to create the Lexus LC Stratocaster.

Serving as an extension to the Lexus LC 500 coupe, the Lexus LC Stratocaster sports an Omnidirectional Structural Blue color, which is the same paint color used on its car counterpart. The paint color is inspired by the Morpho butterfly, whose enchanting blue color fluctuates in brightness depending on the angle of light hitting its wings. Hence, the Lexus LC Stratocaster’s color changes from a light, metallic blue to deep midnight blue depending on the angle people view it. Even more impressive, the paint itself doesn’t have blue material; rather, layers of colorless material overlap each other to cause light interference, which generates an ever-changing blue finish. The guitar further leans into the Lexus-themed motif by using the same twill carbon fiber on its pickguard that Lexus uses on the LC 500’s rear spoiler. Ron Thorn went as far as lowering the number of knobs on the Lexus LC Stratocaster to just the master volume and master tone to better reflect the stereo knobs that come with the Lexus sound system. He even used the same machine-brushed aluminum on the Stratocaster’s master knobs to parallel the Mark Levinson stereo knobs found in the Lexus. Add in the 3A flame maple neck and Richlite fingerboard, and you have a guitar that can shred with the best of them.

The Lexus LC Stratocaster has a limited release of 100 units, guitar enthusiasts and motorheads alike are going to want to act fast to get one. Pick one up now for $6,000.
