Most people would assume that there’s not much room left for innovation when it comes to carabiners. Apparently, no one told that to anyone over at Dango, an everyday carry company that continues to push the limits of what seemingly mundane tools can do. From its Dapper Pen Wallet to its versatile Titanium Money Clip with bottle opener, the California-based outfit has been making huge strides in the EDC space throughout its history.

Now, Dango strikes gold once again with perhaps its most impressive EDC item yet, the Carabiner & Shackle. The straightforward name says it all; this device helps you stay organized while keeping your essentials secure. Working either separately or in tandem, the two-piece tool serves as both a carabiner with two individual chambers so you can detach certain items without worrying about your other gear coming off in the process. Several holes on the outside leave plenty of opportunity for attachments as well. Among those attachments is the equipped shackle, which hangs below and can be used to hold up to eight keys side-by-side for those who have a lot to keep track of.

Both the carabiner and the shackle are CNC machined to ensure the quality and toughness of both items. The carabiner is made from lightweight 6061 aerospace-grade aluminum, while the shackle is built from durable stainless steel, as are the rugged bolts that hold this contraption together. Weighing just 2oz and sporting a lean frame, you’ll hardly notice this device is on your belt loop until you need it most.

Give yourself peace of mind by keeping all your gear locked in place with the Carabiner & Shackle, available now through Dango’s online store for $49.
