For those here in the United States, the name Dacia might not ring a bell. However, the Romanian marque has been producing commercial vehicles since the mid-’60s, specializing in utilitarian function underneath deceptively stylish physiques. Purchased by Renault in 1999, the brand has recently begun to make moves forward in both style and substance.

Dacia just unveiled the MANIFESTO concept car, which is perhaps its biggest step forward in terms of innovation ever. Serving as an electric off-roader, the vehicle is outfitted with some incredible specs that could very well be game changers for the future of the company and the auto industry as a whole. The first thing you’ll notice on the vehicle, other than the geometric shape, is the lack of doors, windows, and windshields, intended to better immerse the driver and passengers into their natural surroundings. Additionally, a single headlight bar is equipped, which can be removed and used as a torch light, and the airless tires are puncture-proof for ultimate reliability and longevity.

Interior highlights include a dashboard and onboard computer than integrate with your personal smart device and can be utilized as such. There are also ample accommodations for additional accessories thanks to the modular YouClip feature. Solidifying its waterproof capabilities, the car’s entire inside can get cleaned “with a water jet.” Once the removable seat coverings are dry, they can convert into sleeping bags. As a stride toward sustainability, Dacia has also built much of the interior recycled plastics and natural materials like cork.

The Dacia MANIFESTO concept will not enter into production but will instead inform future models from the company with its tech and capabilities. The car will be featured during the Paris Motor Show in October.
