Staff Writer

Responsibilities

• Daily production of gear/automotive stories which includes product descriptions, brand stories, snapshot articles, product reviews, features and in-depth buyer’s guides
• Scour the web on a daily basis for the best automotive stories, and the best stuff for men to buy
• Pitching and writing engaging content that is designed to be digested and shared in a world consumed by social media
• Strategize with team on larger editorial pieces to help make HICONSUMPTION the best gear destination on the web
• Copy editing and fact checking

Requirements

• Passion for well-designed, well-built gear – above all else
• Excellent grammar skills with a diverse vocabulary and proficient at spelling
• The ability to perform in-depth research on anything men’s gear related
• Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable receiving constructive criticism
• Loves working in a team environment
• Must meet deadlines and have strong prioritization & time management skills
• Experience multitasking and tracking several projects simultaneously
• Strong, creative eye for images that will tell the story and visually sell on social media
• Witty and quick to develop enticing article headlines
• Strong attention to detail
• Photoshop skills are required
• WordPress (or similar CMS) experience is a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Previous writing/editorial experience preferred
