Coffee table books are a dime a dozen, but leave it to Shaolin’s Finest to make the most impressive offering we’ll likely see for years to come. In collaboration with publishing house Art Of, the Wu-Tang Clan has revealed the grandest book in rap history, and it’s accompanied by a 400-pound chamber.
Photos throughout the book come from famed photographers like Danny Hastings, Kyle Christy, PROTIM PHOTO, and several members of the Staten Island-bred band of rappers. And while 300 pages worth of never-before-seen photos is enough to appease any Wu-Tang fan, aficionados will appreciate the book’s superior construction. It was fully printed and bound in Italy using nothing but premium leather, bringing a harmonious display of luxury and, obviously, the ruckus.
Measuring 21” x 21”, it’s only right to encase the humungous book in an equally jaw-dropping chamber. Sculpted by Gethin Jones using 400 pounds of steel and bronze, the piece garners inspiration from bronze ritual bowls from the Zhou Dynasty, serving as a testament to Wu’s affinity for Chinese culture. Fittingly enough, Wu-Tang Clan Legacy will be limited to a mere 36 copies in celebration of Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) 30th anniversary. Each copy will be signed, dated, numbered, and accompanied by certificates of authenticity.
Catch the blast of a hype verse and apply for priority access to pre-order a copy of WU-TANG CLAN LEGACY starting December 17. Pricing information has not been made available at this time.
