You don’t have to break the bank in order to nab a quality tactical knife. Bob Terzuola has racked up quite the expertise since making his first knife back in 1980, to say the least. Now a legend within the industry, he has partnered with several mainstay brands and has recently unveiled a line of affordable EDC blades with masterful construction, with the latest being a more pocket-friendly version of his iconic ATCF knife.
Terzuola Tactical’s ATCF Lite liner lock knives are made in an array of colorways, including two G-10 jade handle variants sold exclusively through Blade HQ. Designed to be a versatile everyday knife and survival tool that you could easily (and safely) stow in your pocket, the original ATCF (Advanced Technology Combat Folder) back in 1985 started the tactical knife genre as we know it today. It was the first to sport the now-common thumb disc, as well as a finger guard at the bottom and a matching thumb ramp up top.
The 4” drop point blade has since decreased to 3” for an easier carry (and less risky legality), with a handle that stretches to 3.85” and a weight of just 2.8oz. Available in either stonewashed or black finishes, the ATCF Lite sports a Nitro-V steel blade with a jimped flipper for quick opening and a liner lock for added safety when closed. The jade handle harkens back to Terzuola’s days of jade carving back in Guatemala, where he lived for a number of years prior to taking up knifemaking full time.
