Bike to Work without Breaking a Sweat with the JackRabbit Micro eBike

Presented by

As much as a lot of people like the idea of commuting to work via bicycle, many have found this eco-friendly alternative to driving results in them showing up to the office looking like a tired sweaty mess. Recognizing both the benefits of replacing short-distance automotive transportation with two-wheeler commuting and the inherent drawbacks that often come with it, San Diego’s JackRabbit Mobility has engineered the ideal commuter eBike.

Using a pedal-less, sweat-free, motorcycle-style footpeg design, the JackRabbit micro eBike is powered by a 300-watt (0.4hp) motor that allows for a top speed of 20mph and the ability to climb a 12% grade (or greater). Affording a range of ten miles or more, the latest generation of JackRabbit’s eBike features a swappable 36V, 4.2Ah, 151.2Wh Li-Ion battery that’s housed in the frame behind a barrel-key lock-protected compartment. Requiring just two hours for a 0-100% recharge, the battery can be removed for more convenient charging or charged through the frame. IPX4-rated for water resistance, the battery also has a three-level LED battery life indicator that’s easily visible while riding.

Built around a 061-T6 aluminum monocoque frame, the JackRabbit eBike is started via a simple on/off button on the throttle while power is delivered through a thumb-activated variable-speed control. And while the JackRabbit is exceedingly easy (and fun) to use, perhaps the most impressive thing about it is its compact size and featherlight makeup. With the ability to have its handlebar assembly removed and folded — without having to disconnect any cables — the entire bike is only 7” wide and 24lbs, making it perfect for tossing in the back of a pickup, van, or RV for road trips, exploring new cities, or just having some fun out on the trails. What’s more, the eBike is also FAA-compliant, so it can easily be taken on a plane to practically anywhere you want to ride.

Available now in four color options, the JackRabbit eBike has been priced at $1,000. JackRabbit also offers a host of accessories such as a front and rear fender and LED lighting kits, a rear basket, a phone mount, a cargo box, and an extra swappable battery that comes with a custom bag that mounts beneath the seat.
