The Great Depression of the 20th century didn’t necessarily mean that Americans had to stop working. For many, they just had to work harder and longer…much longer. In 1932, Charles Danner sought to create the perfect workboot to aide lumberjacks and ranchers in the Pacific Northwest. Since then, his brand has expanded to include hikers and hybrids for everyday city life, and in 1979 it debuted the Danner Light boot.
Online retail curator Huckberry has partnered with Danner for a new limited-edition interpolation of the Oregon-based footwear brand’s iconic Danner Light boot. Handmade in Portland by skilled cobblers, this version is available in a “Texas Tan” colorway that uses the same waxed canvas uppers found on the popular Flannel-lined Waxed Trucker Jacket from Flint and Tinder. Built to last you for decades, if not longer, the full-grain leather surrounding the canvas on the uppers has been waxed and buffed as well.
The GORE-TEX membrane liner gives you both waterproof protection and breathable comfort, while Vibram’s Christy wedge lightweight rubber outsole absorbs shocks and has incredible traction and stability on wet and dry terrains, which only improve over time.
