More than rugged enough to hack it as a piece of workwear while also stylish enough to lend itself to date night, this jacket is constructed around a highly water-resistant TekWax shell from British Millerain — a proprietary waxed cotton canvas material made by the original creators of waxed canvas. Diamond-quilted inside and out, the jacket has not only been lined with ultra-soft Japanese polyester, but it’s also been stuffed with lightweight, packable, and fully-breathable Primaloft insulation that’s derived from 100% recycled materials. Widely viewed as the gold standard in its segment, the use of British Millerain waxed canvas for the jacket’s shell also enables it to achieve a unique patina over time with regular use.
The jacket is brimming with subtle yet premium details that collectively elevate the garment as a whole, including a Flint and Tinder-branded snap button closure, chambray plain weave fabric detailing through the collar, and matching chambray detailing on the interior of the snap-button-equipped wrist cuffs. This quilted and insulated jacket also sports a bevy of pockets including dual chest pockets, hidden side hand pockets with button-snap closures, an inside zipper-secured chest pocket, and a dedicated interior media pocket for safely stashing a smartphone.
Produced in small batches, the Quilted Waxed Shirt Jacket is available now, with pricing set at $258. In addition to being offered in four color options, it’s also available in a sleeveless vest configuration for $198.
