Engineered to stand up to hard daily use in some of the world’s harshest and least forgiving conditions, military garments are unsurprisingly often looked to for influence when designing rugged outerwear. So, when Flint and Tinder recently set out to deliver a hardwearing and utilitarian range of outerwear, the NYC label turned to old-school, standard-issue military garb for inspiration, drawing on the rugged, high-performance nature of mil-spec apparel to deliver FnT’s all-new Caliber Collection.
Designed in New York City, the Caliber Collection is comprised of a military-inspired puffer jacket and a matching puffer vest. Both items are crafted from NyCo — an ultra-rugged construction composed of a nylon cotton blend — before being stuffed with down insulation and then further fortified via a water-resistant DWR finish. The vest and jacket have also been peached, affording the items to feel super soft to the touch.
What’s more, both the Caliber Jacket and Caliber Vest have been equipped with cord adjustable waist and sleeve openings, a chest pocket with a hidden-button closure, an interior zip pocket, leather pull zipper closures, and contrast binding over both garments’ interior seams. The jacket has also been treated to a cotton and polyester collar to bolster the item’s wind resistance while the vest has been bestowed with an ultra-cozy fleece-lined collar, as well as microfleece hand-warmer pockets.
Offered exclusively through Huckberry, the Flint and Tinder Caliber Collection is available now, with pricing set at $138 for the Caliber Vest and $238 for the Caliber Jacket — the latter of which is offered in Cedar or Black color options.
