Since its debut in 2017, Benchmade’s Bugout model has stood as one of the most revered everyday carry knives in existence, lauded for its overall quality and utility. And while the standard Bugout is already an incredibly capable blade, the knife’s immense and continued popularity has prompted the Oregon City outfit to deliver even more premium versions of the Bugout, the latest of which sees the knife receive its most top-shelf material update yet.
Measuring 7.46″ overall, this decidedly high-end version of the Bugout has seen its regular handle construction jettisoned in favor of a set of textured, aircraft-grade aluminum scales encompassing steel liners. The Bugout’s 3.24″ drop point blade has also been recreated in ultra-top-shelf Böhler M390 steel, which comes adorned in a hardwearing black Cerakote finish. In addition to sporting Benchmade’s signature AXIS locking mechanism and a reversible deep-carry pocket clip, this version of the Bugout (535BK-4) also comes equipped with a number of other premium details such as a set of dual maroon-anodized titanium thumb studs and bronze pivot washers. Collectively, these material updates make for an even more competent — and high-end — version of an already incredible EDC knife.
