While everyone and their mother have been rocking Sambas lately, it’s safe to say there are few adidas silhouettes you’ll find on the streets as much as the Ultraboost. The brand’s ever-so-comfortable trainers have been deemed one of the most versatile shoes in its catalog since its release, and they’re ready to take a turn for the better. Upon revealing the Ultraboost Light, the three stripes have managed to pull off premium technical innovation from heel to toe.
Touted as the line’s lightest offering to date, the aptly-named kicks result from what adidas calls “ground-breaking material innovation,” claiming that its new Light BOOST material is 30% lighter than former iterations. As expected, this enhancement paves the way for unrivaled energy return and comfort across the board, a pair of pros we’ve already come to expect with the original silhouette. And while the now-eight-year-old shoe has been seen worn in several instances aside from actually working out, it’s clear this lightweight release is far more geared toward optimized exercise — that said, no one’s going to stop you from wearing them leisurely.
In addition to being as light as ever, the high-performing shoes genuinely take things to the next level using a re-designed PRIMEKNIT+ upper for maximum breathability and Continental performance rubber for uber-trusty traction. Unsurprisingly, the forthcoming release further showcases adidas’ sustainable advancements, as the streamlined runners benefit from a 10% lower carbon footprint. Lastly, the Ultralight BOOST boasts an enhanced Linear Energy Point that functions alongside the newly-innovated material for harmonious responsiveness.
As of today, adidas Rewards members have received early access to the Ultralight Boost, but it will be fully available starting March 4 for $190.
