Polaris Unleashes an Ultra-Capable E-UTV Workhorse with the RANGER XP Kinetic

Like the majority of other major vehicle manufacturers, Polaris has been making a shift to tap into the ever-growing EV market with what the American marque has dubbed its “rEV’d Up” strategy. And after previously debuting the first-ever RANGER EV earlier this year, the company has now unveiled a markedly more capable and high-performance all-electric UTV lineup with the Polaris RANGER XP Kinetic.

The RANGER XP Kinetic represents a major leap in performance over the existing RANGER EV, with an industry-leading 110hp, 140ft-lbs of torque, a 2,500-lb towing capacity, and an industry-best 1,250-lb haul rating — a huge jump over its predecessor’s 30hp and 1,500-lb tow rating. These impressive figures were achieved through Polaris entering a strategic partnership in which it tapped Zero Motorcycles to assist with the research and development of the new UTV range’s powertrain. Fitted with 29″ eight-ply Pro Armor X-Terrain tires, steel push bumpers, and a full-body skid plate as standard, the RANGER XP Kinetic also offers some pretty impressive off-roading capabilities with 10″ of suspension travel coupled with 14″ of ground clearance. Not requiring the regular oil, filter, spark plug, and clutch maintenance/replacement routine of gas-engined UTVs, the XP Kinetic is also said to require 70% less servicing than petrol-powered models.

The Polaris RANGER XP Kinetic will be offered in two versions, the Premium and the Ultimate, which are priced at $24,999 and $29,999, respectively. Those MSRPs also include a one-year factory warranty, a three-year powertrain warranty, and a half-decade battery coverage plan. Polaris will begin accepting reservations of the RANGER XP Kinetic starting on December 1, while deliveries are scheduled to commence in the Summer of 2022.
