Lamborghini Squadra Corse Unveils a V10-Powered, Track-Only Huracán GT3 EVO2

Over the last decade or so, Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse department has been responsible for the development of four increasingly capable track-only Huracán models, first with the Huracán Super Trofeo, then the GT3, the GT3 EVO, and finally the GT2. Fast forward to today and the exotic Italian automaker has now pulled the cover off of the latest race-derived version of its “entry-level” supercar with the Huracán GT3 EVO2.

Fully compliant with the FIA’s 2022 technical regulations, the Huracán GT3 EVO2 benefits from numerous features that have trickled down from the existing, top-of-the-line Huracán STO. Constructed around a hybrid aluminum-carbon fiber chassis, the EVO2 wears a full suite of DZUS-secured carbon fiber bodywork with a pronounced aero kit that includes a massive front splitter, side skirts, a rear diffuser setup, wheel arch vents, a roof scoop, and a manually adjustable rear wing. Powering the Huracán-based, rear-wheel-drive race car is a naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine with titanium valves that’s mated to a paddle-shifted, six-speed Hör sequential gearbox. Riding on 18” wheels shod in sticky Pirelli PZero rubber, the GT3 EVO2 weighs in at just 2,711lbs (dry), too.

The GT3 EVO2’s running gear is all top-of-the-line, track-focused equipment that includes uniball-equipped double wishbone suspension front and aft with three-way adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars and four-way adjustable Öhlins TTX 36 dampers, and TM Racing monobloc six-piston calipers that are cooled via supplementary air ducts. Other mechanical highlights include ZF Hydraulic power steering, a Bosch Motorsport display, a mechanical differential lock, an all-new intake system, and 10-level adjustable Bosch traction control. The gutted, race-ready interior of the car also gets an FIA-spec roll-cage, a roof hatch system, an onboard fire extinguisher, a GT3-style race steering wheel, OMP seats and harnesses, and Lexan windows.

Though pricing has yet to be revealed, the 2023 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 is available for order now through Lamborghini’s racing cars sales team and is expected to begin deliveries in the second half of 2022. Lamborghini is also offering the GT3 EVO2 as a kit that can be used to upgrade the existing GT3 EVO1. The Huracán GT3 EVO2 will also make its public race debut at the 2023 Daytona 24 Hours next January.
