Indian Motorcycle first debuted its original Scout model in 1920. Almost a full century later in 2019, America’s oldest moto marque revived the iconic nameplate with an old-school-inspired entry-level cruiser powered by a thoroughly modern liquid-cooled 69ci V-Twin. In the years that have followed, Indian has steadily been expanding the Scout range, and after the success of bikes like the Scout Bobber and Scout Sixty, the company has now debuted the latest addition to the lineup with the new Scout Rogue.
While similar to Indian’s existing Scouts, the new Rogue gains a number of custom-inspired elements such as a set of mini ape-hanger bars, a sport-style saddle, blacked-out valve covers and fenders, and a unique quarter-fairing design. Weighing in at 545lbs wet, the Scout Rogue also rides on a blacked-out cast wheelset with a larger 19” front wheel and a 16” item in back and boasts an approachable 25.6” seat height. Kicking along the new Scout variant is Indian’s tried-and-true liquid-cooled 69ci (1,133cc) V-Twin engine that’s been paired with a six-speed transmission — a powertrain that’s good for 100hp and 72ft-lbs of torque.
Indian is also giving owners the option to further personalize their bike using the company’s massive catalog of comfort, performance, and style accessories, which includes upgrades like adjustable piggyback shocks, a two-up seat, and an auxiliary tachometer with an LED shift light, just to name a few. Alongside the regular Scout Rogue, Indian has also introduced a more affordable entry-level Sixty-spec of the model that — like the regular Scout Sixty — starts at $9,999.
The 2022 Indian Scout Rogue is slated for a release this summer, with pricing starting from $11,499. Available with or without ABS, the Scout Rogue is offered in half-a-dozen different color options and comes backed by a two-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
