Based in Stara Tura — a small town in western Slovakia’s Trenčín region — EARTH Motorcycles is a two-man bespoke bike building firm headed up by Ales Tomis and Vladimir Dinga — the former of whom serves as lead wrench and fabricator while the latter handles the company’s design, marketing, and branding. And though the Slovakian shop has been in operation for less than three years, it’s nonetheless produced one-off works that are on par with some of the world’s most renowned custom moto outfits, delivering beautifully-designed builds with an unmistakable factory finish. For its latest project, Ales and Vlad have once again utilized an early ’80s BMW R100, churning out an even more refined follow-up to the shop’s “Hailer” build from roughly a year ago.
The BMW has received custom engine guards that support a single off-set spotlight, blacked-out spoked wheels adorned in Continental TKC-80 tires, a keyless ignition system, and an LED headlight set in a classic circular housing. A custom brown leather saddle with black diamond stitching now rests atop a bespoke 6mm steel seat pan sandwiched between the new seat and a one-off subframe that’s strong enough to allow for two-up riding. Having shed more than 70lbs — now tipping the scales at around 365lbs — the build’s 66.5-HP 980cc boxer twin engine has also been thoroughly overhauled, receiving a slew of new internals as well as a bespoke exhaust system with custom headers and a titanium Akrapovič HP muffler with a carbon end-cap. The entire powertrain was also bead-blasted before being Cerakoted — furthering the build’s ultra-tidy execution. The stock tank remains in play but has been repainted using 2K tech and then fitted with custom shop logos in place of the fuel cell’s Roundels. The bike also sports scrambler bars that are now set in custom CNC-machined top triples and risers, wrapped in hand-sewn brown leather grips that match the seat, and fitted with bar-end LED indicators.
Based on the stellar results of its latest work — entitled “Budzogan” — we’re extremely optimistic about the future builds that will be rolling out of EARTH Moto’s Slovakian HQ.
