Zenith’s Defy line was already the most experimental and modern of the Swiss luxury watchmaker’s offerings, but now they’ve taken the series in an even more extreme direction with the new and aptly-named Zenith Defy Extreme.
Introduced at the 2021 Watches & Wonders show, the Zenith Defy Extreme takes the overall design language of the Defy and makes it more aggressive and adventure-ready. Despite the fact that the watch houses Zenith’s highly intricate El Primero 21 1/100th-of-a-second chronograph automatic movement, this is not some haute horology timepiece that you have to baby. With 200m of water resistance and a tough 45mm brushed or microblasted angular titanium case with crown and pusher protection, Zenith prepared the watch to take on the elements. That’s why the Defy Extreme also comes with a quick-change strap system and three straps out of the box — a titanium bracelet, rubber strap, and adjustable Velcro strap — so you can adapt to any environment. Available in three colorways, the Zenith Defy Extreme is available now starting at $18,000.
