Fine cigars and luxury watches go together like, well, we’re not exactly sure what. But they’re both expensive, they both carry a certain air of prestige, and they both figure into the new Chronomaster Open Cohiba 55th Anniversary Edition from Zenith.
The Swiss watchmaker’s latest limited edition chronograph marks the 55th anniversary of the world’s foremost premium cigar company by transforming the Chronomaster Open into a tribute to the Cuban tobacco giant. The watch’s dial mimics the saffron yellow and black/white checkered coloring of Cohiba’s labels, there’s a Cohiba logo on the chronograph hours register at six o’clock, and the interior of the sapphire caseback is emblazoned with Cohiba’s 55th-anniversary graphic. Accompanying the watch are five special Cohiba cigars contained within an exclusive co-branded porcelain jar, making this a true product collaboration between the two brands. Powering the Chronomaster is a chronometer-certified El Primero 4061 high-beat automatic chronograph movement, as one should expect from Zenith. Production on the Zenith Chronomaster Open Cohiba 55th Anniversary Edition is limited to — you guessed it — 55 pieces, and is priced around $11,000.
