Zarooq SandRacer 500 GT
Back in 2015, U.A.E-based Zarooq Motors unveiled renders for what was to be a completely bespoke off-road machine called the SandRacer. And it was glorious. Now, they’ve unveiled their first production model – the 500GT – and, wouldn’t you know it, it’s even better than the original.
For starters, the SandRacer 500 GT is capable of 525 horsepower – a whopping 216 above the original and 25 over their highest promised option. It’s also capable of just under 487 foot-pounds of torque, both numbers the result of a tuned 6.2-liter V8 engine beneath the hood. And those numbers qualify this vehicle for the moniker of ‘supercar,’ which is made all the more impressive by the fact that the 2-seater rear-wheel-drive coupe can swap between both a street-friendly driving mode and an off-road “sand” mode. To cope with that capability, the 500 GT features a pair of bespoke Mansory carbon fiber seats encapsulated in a lightweight racing chassis with a built-in roll cage designed by Campos Racing Grand Prix engineers. You’ll want to act quick, though, as only 35 of these are to be made at a price of $450,000 a pop. Deliveries are slated for later this year.
