Last summer, Yves Saint Laurent launched its first two brick-and-mortar Rive Droite locations in Los Angeles and Paris, offering a unique host of limited edition, non-clothing items such as artworks, accessories, and random odds like a $3,000 gold-plated skateboards, $4,000 vintage-style boomboxes, and a $6,000 burnt wood surfboard, just to name a few. The brainchild of YSL creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, the Rive Droite store in Paris has just announced its latest ultra-exclusive offering with a $44,000 marble construction turntable.
The elite record player was born out of a collaboration with France’s Pierre Riffaud, a renowned name in the Hi-Fi audio arena that’s been in operation since the early 1980s. Handcrafted from marble in France, the belt-driven turntable supports Bluetooth connectivity, FM radio, and multi-room WiFi, though also comes equipped with a standard 3.5mm jack. Boasting a built-in amplifier, this new turntable affords the same top-notch audio quality as Riffaud’s regular equipment — helping to at least partially justify this item’s admittedly exorbitant MSRP. Priced at $44,000, the Yves Saint Laurent Rive Droite x Pierre Riffaud Marble Turntable is exclusively available through the Paris Rive Droite location.
