Yamaha YZF-R1 By Lazareth

Originally customized a decade ago for use in the Vin Diesel sci-fi flop, Babylon A.D, this bike has one hell of a story to tell. Though the movie was nothing to write home about, the custom bikes in the film were made by master designer Ludovic Lazareth. As such, they were functional pieces of mechanical art. This one, however, didn’t survive the filming and was crashed on set. Since then, in his spare time, Mr. Lazareth has taken it upon himself to rebuild it. And this beaut is what he came up with.

Sporting an all-new custom front end – a necessity, due to the cannibalization of the original forks into another project – with an extremely unique ‘swing-arm’ setup, this bike is unlike any other we’ve ever seen. And while the front end is the clear stand-out feature, the entire chassis has undergone some large changes – including a shorter tail, an extended exhaust with built-in LEDs, Brembo brakes, and more. Not to mention, it’s fitted with carbon fiber panels on the tail hump, belly, and around the aluminum gas tank. This one-of-a-kind racer is priced accordingly, at $53,000 out the door. [Purchase]
