Not every motorcycle manufacturer is keen on customization projects. But Yamaha is not amongst them, as they’ve consistently embraced motorcycle customizers through their Yard Built program. And the latest addition to that lineage comes from the folks at Istanbul’s Bunker Custom Cycles with the ‘Chimera’ XSR900.
Whereas many customizers are interested in building bikes that harken back to the past or look forward to the future, the folks at Bunker wanted to make sure that this bike was built for this particular moment — and done with “absolute perfection” in mind. To achieve that, they completely redesigned the tank using carbon fiber fabric panels with a UV treatment to help stave off any weather-induced aging. They also cleaned up the tail end, replaced the lights with LEDs, equipped it with a Fully Floating Rotor System by EBC Brakes, and swapped in an SC Project exhaust and A/F modifier. If you want to see this beautiful beast for yourself, it will be on display at the 2019 EICMA show this November.
