Microsoft Is Actually Making Xbox Series X Mini-Fridges That You Can Buy

In the weird, wild world of 2021, memes are increasingly becoming reality. A lot of the time, such projects are beyond disappointing. But once in a while, a piece of internet culture-turned-reality ends up being truly awesome. And that’s what we have with the new — and very real — Xbox Mini-Fridge.

Back when the Xbox Series X was first announced, people couldn’t help but notice the similarities between the rectangular gaming console and a refrigerator. Xbox had some fun with the comparisons, tweeting out a photo of the system with a “fridge for scale.” That tweet earned Xbox a spot in Twitter’s first-ever “Best of Tweets” Brand Bracket, where it edged out Skittles to be crowned champion in April 2020. Microsoft promised to produce an Xbox fridge following their victory, and lo and behold, they’re actually doing it. The Xbox Mini-Fridge looks just like an Xbox Series X, but instead of housing hardcore gaming internals, it can fit at least 10, possibly 12 beers within its black housing. Billed as the “world’s most powerful mini-fridge,” the Xbox Mini-Fridge has an Xbox Green-illuminated interior and boasts Xbox Velocity Cooling Architecture — whatever that is. No pricing has been announced for the fridge, but it is a real product that will be available from Microsoft this holiday season.
