First appearing on the scene in the early ‘90s, the Wu-Tang Clan is unequivocally one of the most iconic and universally celebrated hip hop groups of all time, with an illustrious career spanning almost three decades that’s included a slew of acclaimed studio albums, as well as additional works including films, video games, and other forms of media. The East Coast group’s next major release isn’t an album, but instead, an ultra-limited edition photography book christened Wu-Tang Clan: LEGACY.
Containing more than 300 original photographs of the RZA, the GZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Raekwon, Masta Killa, Cappadonna, ODB (RIP), and other friends of the nine-man crew, the book includes work from esteemed photographers such as Danny Hastings, Kyle Christie, and Andy Cantillon, just to name a few. Like Wu’s 2015 album, Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, the LEGACY book comes in a special ornate package, in this case, a 400lb steel and bronze structure with three-dozen bronze encrusted chambers — a blatant nod to Wu-Tang’s game-changing debut album — that’s inspired by the traditional Chinese bronze ritual bowls. What’s more, only 36 copies of the book are being produced in total, all of which are handcrafted in Italy from premium leather and other fine materials.
