Woodland Cabin by De Rosee Sa Architects
The simple things in life are hard to come by when you live in an urban area, but this lakeside Woodland Cabin set in rural Belgium can provide you with the seclusion you need to relax.
De Rosee Sa Architects undertook the project themselves, building on a budget of less than $40,000. It’s not very big, sitting at just 35 square meters, but it’s filled with charm. It sits on a concrete strip foundation with a suspended wooden floor, and it’s built using beams and siding that were sourced from the architect’s father, who milled them, himself, from the trees surrounding the area. It’s heated with a wood burning stove, which makes the cabin warm and cozy, setting you up perfectly for a nice, long nap. On the front deck, you can sit and take-in the nature around you while staring at the lake ahead.
