Those of us looking for a production 4×4 RV can finally rest easy. We cover a lot of these types of vehicles but nothing that’s available at the production level and manufactured right here in the USA. That is, until now. Introducing the Winnebago Revel, their most capable off-road RV to date – America’s first.

It’s all part of a launch series Winnebago released this month. Here, this offering is designed specifically for the outdoors utilizing a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4×4 platform as its blank canvas. From here, it offers an on-demand 4WD system in conjunction with a high/low range and hill descent mode. It’s powered by the a 3-liter turbo diesel engine putting out 325 lb-ft of torque and boasts several high-end amenities such as a power lift bed, 140 cubic-feet of storage space, an all-electric galley, a solar power system, compressor refrigerator, a dinette with a pull-up table, and a wet bath and gear closet. Needless to say, Winnebago took backcountry living into consideration when drawing up the plans for this off-the-grid-friendly RV.
