Sometimes when you’re out on the water “shredding,” “carving,” and other things that sound like what you’d do to a pot roast but are actually euphemisms for surfing, it’s nice to take a moment and soak up the scenery around you. But pushing back against Mother Nature can make that difficult.

Take a breather and get where you’re going faster with WaveJet, a personal water propulsion system that uses a battery-powered electric motor to pretty much triple the average speed of the ol’ paddle and arms combo. Riders wear a bracelet that lets them turn off and on the propulsion, the miniature jet drive has two lightweight aluminum impellers that produce up to 20lbs of thrust, and the makers say you can ride it all day and recharge it fully in seven hours. You can use the WaveJet with a surfboards, bodyboard, paddleboard and more. [Purchase]
