Originally debuting in the early 1960s, the Buck Model 110 is one of the most timeless and iconic folding knives of all time, remaining in production for more than half-a-century and receiving countless updates, variations, and special edition models along the way. For the 2020 holiday season, VSSL has tapped independent artisan knifemaker, Kay Foye to craft an ultra-premium, ultra-limited-edition version of Buck’s classic Model 110.
Made entirely by hand in Foye’s workshop, the collaboration consists of three versions of the 110, each with their own unique—and decidedly top-shelf–handle materials, and each limited to only ten units. The first of the three knives features scales made from ram’s horn; the second sports handles crafted from hand-worked elk antlers; and last but not least, a Model 110 outfitted with scales composed of genuine wooly mammoth tooth. A full $60 from each sale will also be donated to Communitas, a local Vancouver-based nonprofit that helps youths with special needs find employment. Available now through Vessel’s website, the VSSL x Kay Foye Buck 110 folding knives are priced at $600 each.
